For Samsung One UI handsets notification badges are not handled by individual apps. If you're having issues with Aqua Mail's badge, try the following:
Settings > Apps > Aqua Mail > Notifications > Enable "App icon badges"
Settings > Notifications > App icon badges > Show with number
Within Aqua Mail go to Settings -> Message notifications -> Enable “Smart Watch enhancements”.
